Our orchestra was organized in November 2013 by the efforts of a children's music teacher - Tatyana Nikolaevna Orekhova - the mother of one sunny girl from our group. She found not only the strength and time to study music with our unusual guys, but with the support of her family and friends, she attracted like-minded teachers to work with the orchestra. They are kind and sympathetic people of creative professions who disinterestedly help our children. Our story began on the bell tower of the Church of the Ascension of the Lord behind the Serpukhov gates with the blessing of the rector, archpriest Fr. Konstantin (Tatarintseva). The dedication of people with a big heart made it possible to make classes available and, which is especially important for many large families, free. The orchestra includes about 50 children, adolescents and adults with Down syndrome, aged 8 to 60 years. We teach them how to play wind musical instruments (saxophone, clarinet, block
flute), piano and melody, percussion instruments and vocals. We conduct classes on familiarization with musical notation and solfeggio, dancing. Joint work in group rehearsals and their creative atmosphere allow children with Down syndrome to adapt to life in society, and allow them to discover new creative facets in children. The guys have a larger social circle, common interests. All teachers working in the orchestra are successful professional musicians, and many are virtuoso performers.

Individual lessons with children on the piano are conducted by Orekhova Tatyana and Ivanova Oksana, they teach how to play the saxophone, clarinet and block flute - Nikita Sokolov, Vladislav Sokolov and Grigory Klimov, on the drum kit - Oleg Stepanov.

In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”

The inspiration for the creation of our orchestra was the experience of colleagues from Holland. In this country, musical orchestras consisting of people with Down syndrome are very popular. The founder of this direction is the Yostiband Orchestra, created in 1966. This is a huge orchestra (more than 200 people) in which people with Down syndrome from 18 to 93 years old play. The Yostiband Orchestra is very popular in its homeland, every month the orchestra gives concerts, and, despite the cost of tickets, there are no empty seats in the hall. This orchestra is a source of national pride in Holland, is widely known and has performed several times abroad.

In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”

Since 2015, the Inclusive Orchestra has been performing on the “big” stage. He is a laureate of Moscow city and international competitions of instrumental music, winner of the Grand Prix of the XXI Open Festival of Instrumental Performing Arts "Music of the XX-XXI century" On Vadkovsky ". The orchestra soloists have repeatedly participated in the World Special Music Festival in Pyeongchang (Korea). We successfully tour not only across Russia, but also abroad. The musical achievements of our students were remarkably appreciated by the audience who came to the concert in Ryazan, Pskov, St. Petersburg, Vilnius (Lithuania), Chisinau (Moldova), Rostock and Hamburg (Germany), Strasbourg and Paris (France).

In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”

Social adaptation of children with mental disorders by means of music

As is known, inclusive education seeks to develop a methodology that targets children and recognizes that all children are individuals with different learning needs. Inclusive education seeks to develop an approach to teaching and learning that is more flexible to meet different learning needs. If teaching and learning are made more effective as a result of the changes that inclusive education brings, then all children (not just children with special needs) will benefit.

In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”

L. S. Vygotsky (1896-1934) pointed out the need to create a system of education in which a disabled child would not be excluded from the society of children with normal development. He pointed out that, with all the advantages, our special correctional school is distinguished by the main disadvantage that it closes its pupil in a narrow circle of a specific school collective, creates a closed world in which everything is adapted to the child's defect, everything fixes his attention on its shortcoming and does not introduces him to real life. Thus, L. S. Vygotsky was one of the first to substantiate the idea of integrated learning.

In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”

The basic form of conducting a musical lesson was the use of integrated blocks of various types of artistic and aesthetic activities in a playful way. For example, within the framework of a musical lesson, playing music on musical instruments is replaced by theatrical activities, and between them communicative dances are learned, etc.

The basic principles of musical education and upbringing of children in our orchestra:

  1. Individual approach.

  2. Systematic training.

  3. Visibility of training.

  4. Play music before mastering musical performance skills.

  5. Encouraging creativity.

  6. Collective game.

  7. Changing types of musical activity through a game-lesson.

  8. The musical development of children is based on the works of world classics and the best examples of modern jazz culture.

In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”

Thus, applying these principles in organizing music lessons, we have achieved excellent results:

  1. We have formed a wonderful creative musical group.

  2. Children with mental disabilities acquire the skill of concert performance. They feel more confident in society and on stage.

  3. The ability to perceive and reproduce more complex and varied pieces of music, from classical to jazz, develops.

  4. Children with mental disabilities successfully play with notes and read from the sheet.

  5. They develop aesthetic taste and artistic preferences.

  6. Self-esteem improved.

  7. Self-control is formed in the performance of works.

  8. Success in concert activities contributes to personal achievements in the development of communication and socialization skills.

  9. Parents of our "sunny" children receive psychological relief and have a positive experience in raising their own child, seeing his creative success.

  10. Everyone notes that classes in the orchestra greatly change for the better the possibilities of pupils and the development of their personal qualities: cooperation, positive interaction with each other, form feelings of friendship, affection and care.

In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”

In our team, not only children and youth with mental disabilities play, but also their healthy brothers and sisters. Family music lessons are held.

In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”

Thanks for attention! We invite everyone who is interested in our work to the concerts of the orchestra "Sunny Notes" and

We wish you all the best!

In the meantime, there is no need to know about it. ”
